dangtfc's Arsenal Saved game from January 2011. He's already won the Premiership twice, fancy making it three in a row?

This is the download of my Arsenal game in which I am in January 2011 (mid-way through the third season).

I won the league back to back in 2008/09 and 2009/10 and the squad is full of quality.

The squad is:

Goalkeepers
Manuel Almunia
Ben Foster
Dudu Aouate

Defenders
Micah Richards
William Gallas
Johan Djourou
Krystian Pearce
Miguel Veloso
Jack Rodwell
Bakary Sagna
Gael Glichy
Joe Mattock
Royston Drenthe

Midfielders
Fabian Delph
Nuri Sahin
Francesc Fabregas
Mark Noble
Aaron Ramsey
James Milner
Mikel Arteta
Jack Wilshere
Rafael Van Der Vaart

Attackers
Carlos Vela
Theo Walcott
Emmanuel Adebayor
Matt Derbyshire
Nathan Delfouneso

It’s a fantastic young squad with strength in depth, there is £220m in the bank and you have a transfer kitty of £169m. As it’s the beginning of January you can shape and mould your team as you like.

You are undefeated in the league, playing 18 games, winning 11 drawing 7. You are 2nd, 3 points behind Manchester United but you have a game in hand.

This game is ideal for anyone who wants to get a few years into the future but not too far, with a club that have more money then sense and a great base to build a successful dynasty upon.

In Real Life:

Carlos Vela is a Mexican football striker currently playing for Arsenal of the English Premier League. Vela began his carrer at Mexican club Guadalajara alongside his brother Alejandro Vela but unlike Alejandro, Carlos never made his debut for the club. His footballing debut came when he participated in the U-17 World Cup with the Mexican national team. The team went on to win the tournament and Vela was named the top scorer of the tournament with five goals and claimed the Adidas Golden boot. Following his showing at the U-17 World Cup, Vela attracted interest from a number of European clubs. It was eventually Arsenal F.C. who came out on top and won the race for his signature in November 2005 for a £125,000 fee that will rise to £550,000 if he plays 50 first-team games and he signed a five-year deal. However, due to English work permit restrictions for non-EU citizens which prevented him from playing in England, he was quickly loaned out to Celta de Vigo in February 2006. After a stint at Celta, Vela then had a loan spell at Spainish club Salamanca followed by another loan spell, thsi time at Osasuna. Carlos finally was granted a work permit that allowed him to play in England. He has made 4 appearance to date and scored 3 goals, all coming on his full debut against Sheffield United in the Carling Cup.

In FM:
On Football Manager, Carlos Vela has the potential to make it as one of the best forwards in the world within the next 5-10 years. He starts the game at the age of 19 but can definatly compete with the others forwards at Arsenal. His natural position is upfront can play on the left wing. His value at the start of the game is £6,000,000 which is a resonable price for a player who has a lot of potential and talent. He is on a 3 year contract at Arsenal and on a £4,400 per week wage. He is around 5 foot 9 which isnt bad for a young striker but his ability makes up for it.

Training:

Strength Medium Carlos will need beefing up strength wise as his strength attribute needs improving if he is to become a world class streiker in the future
Aerobic Heavy Carlos will benifiet from his pace and so his aerobic ability will need some heavy training if he is to use this to the best of his ability
Goalkeeping None
Tactics Heavy Vela will be an intelligent player in the future and so giving him some heavy training in tactics will give him some much need experience while he is young and prime
Ball Control Very Heavy Most probably his best area, his dribbling and technique is outstanding and so some intense training in this area is needed if you want Carlos to be on top of his game
Defending Light He is an attacking player and defending isnt really his area
Attacking Heavy Obviously Carlos is an attacking player and so some heavy training here is needed to this area at its best
Shooting Heavy His finishing could be improved and so some heavy training is needed to get this area at its best aswell
Set Pieces Light Carlos aint the best when it comes to set pieces and it isnt something he really needs so light training is best

Strengths:

As you can see, Vela has some amazing stats for his age. His pace makes him a constant threat to defences as his will be a handful to defend. This attribute also goes well with he height meaning Vela will like to put himself about abit. His dribbling also goes very well with his pace. Vela will like to pick up the ball and run at defences scaring the living daylights out of them. His determination will mean he will always give 100% in every game. These three attributes fit very well together making him almost the perfect striker.

Weaknesses:

Like every player, Vela also has his weaknessess. His marking isnt very good but you do have to consider that he is an attacking player so this isnt as important as say maybe his heading. His tackling is at a 6 and so you will find Carlos not very eager to put a foot in for a challenge. The attribute that is most cause for concern his is positioning. This is something he needs to adress as a forward will need awarness of positioning. You will find here that Carlos might not get in the right positions for maybe set pieces or crosses.

Final Verdict:
Overall, Carlos is a very promising forward for the future. There is no reason why he shouldnt be challenging for a place in the first team squad now. If you have the luxury of managing Vela, you might want to look to loan him out for a few months to get some more first team experience down his neck but definatley do everything to keep hold of him as he is one to look for in the future!
